The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) is not only the leading metropolitan race club in Queensland we also offer a variety of food, beverage and entertainment at any of our three sports clubs, Gallopers Sports Club in Ascot, Souths Sports Club in Acacia Ridge and soon to open The Gibson in Stafford.

 

The Duty Manager is responsible for creating a professional impression for the Sports Club by working with the Operations Manager to efficiently manage the Club’s resources on a day-to-day basis by ensuring employees follow set policy and procedures.

 

An exciting opportunity exists for the right candidate to join an established team of professionals. These are full-time permanent positions reporting direct to the Club Manager, you will be responsible for assisting in leading the team culture, customer experience and the compliant operation of the club.

 

Day to day duties and responsibilities;

  • Handle customer concerns and complements in accordance to company policy and procedure.
  • Supervising a team across multiple departments to ensure all staff are working as per clubs set policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a multi-skill and working knowledge of the whole club.
  • Assist with staff rostering as requested.
  • Supervise cash handling activities within all departments
  • Reading and counting money in cash registers and lock floats away.
  • Work alongside line staff in areas where additional staff are required (i.e. lunch and rest breaks etc). This requires having a working knowledge of all operational areas within the Club.
  • Ensure the club is clean and ready for daily operations at all times.
  • Assisting with dealing with sales representatives.
  • Clear and thorough documentation of incidents on the appropriate forms (i.e. accidents, counselling sessions, Duty Managers’ Change over diary, etc).
  • Minimise financial loss and waste.

 

Your drive to deliver a consistent high level of customer experience will be the key within this role.  All whilst leading the team to success through a hands on approach teaching new skills and expectations to the staff, to help build a strong hospitality team with a focus on delivering exceptional service towards our customers is a MUST.

 

To be successful in this position, you will need to demonstrate and deliver: 

  • Proven success in a hospitality management role, with at least 12 months experience
  • Current RSA, RSG, RMLV Certificates and Approved Managers licence
  • Previous experience in a club advantageous
  • Ability to engage with the community and drive exceptional customer experiences
  • Outgoing energetic personality that thrives on customer interaction
  • The ability to implement and adhere to policies and procedures
  • Reliable and excellent personal presentation
  • Enthusiastic with a genuine passion for the industry, its patrons and the people that work within it
