Gallopers Sports Club, a part of the Brisbane Racing Club’s portfolio, is looking for a full-time Qualified Chef. The Chef will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation and presentation in our kitchens, which includes creating innovative and high-quality dishes that enhance our guest's experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to club menus and standards, ensuring the highest quality and presentation.
- Assist in managing the kitchen operations, including overseeing food preparation and ensuring timely delivery of meals.
- Support the kitchen team, provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff as needed; ensure that all kitchen equipment is used correctly and maintained properly.
- Ensure that all kitchen operations comply with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Conduct regular inspections of food preparation and presentation. Address and resolve any issues related to food quality or guest satisfaction.
Skills, Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification in food safety and hygiene is required.
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar role in a high-volume restaurant or venue.
- Certificate IV or higher in Commercial Cookery
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food safety regulations and hygiene practices.
- Attention to detail in food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
- Foundational interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of venue and / or events management and hospitality.
Salary Range: $70,000 - $75,000
