We’re looking for an experienced, self-motivated mechanic with a strong background in small machines, automotive, and agricultural equipment to join our dedicated team based at Doomben (working and servicing across all our other venues.

This is a full-time role, working five days a week between Monday and Saturday, with flexibility for the right candidate. Saturday work is required to work in with our core business and Raceday scheduling.

Role Overview 

As a Mechanic at Brisbane Racing Club, you will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and repairing a wide range of equipment, including mobile plant and  equipment, racing and gardens machinery, tractors, gators, turf equipment, and fleet vehicles.
  • Developing and implementing maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Managing budgets, supplies, and maintaining accurate records of all work performed.
  • Scheduling and planning maintenance tasks effectively to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborating with team members while also being able to work independently.

 

What we are looking for:

  • Trade-qualified mechanic or diesel fitter (Certificate required).
  • Experience in small machine and automotive maintenance; an agricultural background is highly desirable.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to repair and maintain mobile and stationary equipment.
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to manage your workload and priorities.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for record-keeping and cost management.
  • Valid Australian driver’s license: heavy rigid (HR) license preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Diesel fitting experience.
  • Experience managing 300+ pieces of equipment.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills
