Junior Sous Chef - The Gibson

Are you ready to take your culinary career to the next level? The Gibson is seeking a passionate and dedicated Junior Sous Chef to join our vibrant new kitchen team. As a Junior Sous Chef, you will work closely with our Head Chef to help deliver high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring a clean and efficient workstation at all times. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head Chef and kitchen team in delivering meals to our guests in a timely manner.

  • Maintain stock levels, reorder supplies as needed, and ensure proper food storage.

  • Follow all company procedures and policies to maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment.

  • Minimise food wastage and ensure a consistent quality of dishes.

What We’re Looking For:

  • 2+ years of experience as a Demi Chef de Partie or Chef de Partie in a fast-paced, a la carte restaurant environment.

  • A strong focus on cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to take direction and work well within a team.

  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and ask for assistance when needed.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays (no split shifts or doubles).
