We are on the lookout for an enthusiastic and motivated Operations Manager/2IC to join our team at the South Sports Club. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the operational side of our growing venue, overseeing everything from day-to-day management to delivering exceptional member and guest experiences.
As Operations Manager, you will report directly to the Venue Manager, with responsibility for managing a diverse team and ensuring smooth operations across all areas of the venue. You will work closely with the team to elevate the standard of service and lead from the front, making a real impact on both the operational success and the community feel of the club.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise day-to-day operations of the venue, including bar, kitchen, and front-of-house.
- Ensure all operational areas are functioning efficiently, maintaining high standards of service.
- Oversee staff training, onboarding, and ongoing development to foster a positive and productive environment.
- Collaborate with the Venue Manager to create staff rosters and manage team schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including liquor, health, and safety standards.
- Coordinate and oversee inventory management, stock control, and ordering.
- Handle customer feedback professionally and resolve issues effectively, ensuring a positive guest experience.
- Plan and execute events, promotions, and functions to drive member engagement.
- Monitor and control operational costs to meet business targets.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure consistent service standards are maintained.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in operations management within the hospitality industry or licensed clubs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a hands-on approach.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, solution-focused mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with venue and event management, including planning and executing large-scale events.
- RMLV & RSG qualifications required.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required for events and special occasions.
