Brisbane Racing Club is seeking an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team at Eagle Farm. This role is ideal for someone early in their accounting career who is looking to build their experience and develop their skills within a supportive team environment. You will have already gained some hands-on accounting experience and are ready to take the next step in your career, working closely with experienced finance professionals across racing, hospitality, and events.

About the Role
In this hands-on role, you will support the Finance team with a variety of accounting tasks, including:

Preparing end-of-month journals and assisting with month-end reporting

Completing balance sheet reconciliations

Performing daily and monthly bank and revenue reconciliations

Supporting financial processes across race days, events, and community venues
-
Working closely with operational teams across the business

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
-
1–3 years’ experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally as an Assistant Accountant or Accounts Officer

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
-
Intermediate Excel skills
-
Confidence learning new systems and processes
-
A collaborative approach and willingness to learn

An interest in events, hospitality, or thoroughbred racing (desirable)
