The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) is one of Queensland's most respected hospitality and community organisations, operating a portfolio of successful community clubs serving more than 35,000 members across Brisbane.
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Venue Manager to lead The Gibson Sports Club, our award-winning, $12 million community club re-development in Stafford.
Opened in 2024, The Gibson has quickly established itself as one of Brisbane's premier community club destinations, combining exceptional hospitality, gaming, dining and member experiences in a modern, vibrant and family friendly setting.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive General Manager of Community Venues, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, performance and reputation of The Gibson Sports Club.
As the face of the Club, you will build strong relationships with members, guests, sporting groups and community organisations while leading a high-performing team and delivering outstanding customer experiences.
Success in this role requires balancing community engagement with strong commercial outcomes, ensuring The Gibson continues to thrive as both a successful business and an important community hub.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading all day-to-day venue operations.
- Driving revenue growth, profitability and operational performance.
- Building strong relationships with members, community groups and key stakeholders.
- Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team.
- Managing labour, stock control, budgets and venue costs.
- Overseeing food, beverage, gaming, TAB and Keno operations.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and member experiences.
- Ensuring compliance with liquor, gaming and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Supporting membership growth, promotions and community engagement initiatives.
About You
You will be an experienced hospitality leader with:
- Proven experience managing a licensed venue, club, hotel or hospitality operation.
- Current RMLV and RSG qualifications.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Sound commercial and financial acumen.
- Knowledge of gaming, liquor licensing and compliance requirements.
- A hands-on leadership style and passion for customer service.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
